When is the last time you heard of a man preaching to over 5,000 people without a PA system?
It happened at First Baptist on Sunday evening, May 30, 2004! In the midst of the choir special before the sermon the power died. Then came back. Then died again. This happened several times during the special. The choir finished the special without missing a beat. By the end of the special the power was out for good. Bro. Schaap preached an entire sermon without PA equipment. He preached a tremendous message on breaking free from Egypt's bondage. We were sitting at the very top of the balcony and could still hear him quite clearly. He read his notes and walked across the platform by flashlight. An invitation was given and people were saved and even baptized with only light from flashlights and the rapidly fading emergency lights. God is not hindered by lack of electricity. We were able to record the sermon from our seats and you will be able to experience this unique service just as it happened! Baptist City is the only place to hear this sermon!
