Written by Jean Banks, a Pastor's Wife
In honor of Dr. Jack Hyles

Pastor

Who is this man
We all follow after
He's leader of a holy band
And yet he's my own pastor.

Who is this man
We all long to hear
He's giver to an entire land
And yet he calms my deepest fear.

Who is this man
We all want to lead us
He' s a preacher ever so grand
And yet over my sin he surely makes a fuss.

Who is this man
We all honor and love
He's one striving to be the best he can
And yet his words come straight from above,

Who is this man
We all call Dr. Jack Hyles
He's one who lives in a mansion in glory land
And yet I see him today when a sinner walks the aisles.

Who is this man
We all miss with burning passion
He is above all, God's greatest fan
And yet he lived life in a most humble fashion.

Who is this man
We all miss more each day
He is one for sure who will take a firm stand
And yet he touches my heart in a most tender way.

Who is this man
We all know and admire
He's one who preaches God's Word wherever he can
And yet my own good deeds he seeks to inspire.

Who is this man
We all feel that we know
He's spoken to presidents of our own land
And yet his great love is for the man on skid row.

Who is this man
We all try so hard to explain
He's our hero ever so grand
And yet no words like his can ease our pain

Who is this man
We all will see again someday
He's the one who gave us the plan
And yet it took him to show us the way.

Who is this man
We all owe such a great debt
He's a special design from our master's own hand
And yet to me he says, "my loved one don't fret".

Who is this man
We all are so privileged to know
His strength the whole world did span
And yet his heart's desire always was the savior to show.
